    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Can I adjust the camera is focal length?
    The YI Dome Camera Guard is focal length is 2.8mm. You cannot adjust the focus of the lens, but you can digitally zoom by 4x on the image.
     
    What’s the resolution of the camera?
    YI Dome Guard records video in 1080p at 20fps.

     

    Can I see the infrared light at night?
    No, the night vision infrared light is invisible to human eyes. If you turn on your phone is camera and point it at the camera lens, then you will be able to see it.

    Can YI Dome Guard be fixed to a wall? 
    Yes. You can, you can place the camera to the wall and even the ceiling. Please refer to the user manual to see how to mount the YI Dome Guard.

     

    How do I setup my camera with YI Home App? 

    1. Install YI Home App and create a YI Home Account
    2. Power your camera on and click the icon on the upper right corner in YI HOME app to add your camera
    3. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password, then select Connect to Wi-Fi
    4. Scan the QR Code shown on the app, then select Next once the QR Code has scanned
    5. Select Save, then select Start using to finish pairing
    6. If connection failed, please push the Reset button and try again


    What Wi-Fi settings should I use? 

    1. YI Home cameras will need to connect to a 2.4GHz band network. 5GHz WiFi band is not supported
    2. Turn on the location service on the phone if you encounter Unknown SSID issue
    3. Encryption mode must be set to WPA/WPA2 (mixed mode) or WPA2
    4. Your Wi-Fi password must be 8-20 characters in length.
